چکیده

Ontologies have become the de-facto modeling tool of choice, employed in a variety of applications and prominently in the Semantic Web. Nevertheless, ontology construction remains a daunting task. Ontological bootstrapping, which aims at automatically generating concepts and their relations in a given domain, is a promising technique for ontology construction. Bootstrapping an ontology based on a set of predefined textual sources, such as Web services, must address the problem of multiple concepts that are largely unrelated. This paper exploits the advantage that Web services usually consist of both WSDL and free text descriptors. The WSDL descriptor is evaluated using two methods, namely Term Frequency/Inverse Document Frequency (TF/IDF) and Web context generation. We propose an ontology bootstrapping process that integrates the results of both methods and validates the concepts using the free text descriptors, thereby offering a more accurate definition of ontologies.

A procedure for Web Service Selection Using WS-Policy Semantic Matching

In general, Policy-based approaches play an important role in the management of web services, for instance, in the choice of semantic web service and quality of services (QoS) in particular. The present research work illustrates a procedure for the web service selection among functionality similar web services based on WS-Policy semantic matching. In this study, the procedure of WS-Policy publi...

Petri Net based approach for merging ontologies in web service composition scenario

Ontologies are being used for construction of semantically rich service descriptions. In case of Web service composition, techniques for planning, composing, editing, reasoning and analyzing of these descriptions are required. It’s necessary to resolve semantic interoperability between services to achieve Web services coordination and collaboration. Matchmaking and merging of service descriptio...

Automatic Structuring Of Semantic Web Services An Approach

Ontologies have become the effective modeling for various applications and significantly in the semantic web. The difficulty of extracting information from the web, which was created mainly for visualising information, has driven the birth of the semantic web, which will contain much more resources than the web and will attach machine-readable semantic information to these resources. Ontologica...

Ontology Analysis for the Semantic Web

Ontology engineering will become an increasingly important discipline as ontologies scale up on the semantic web. The enabling mechanism for the semantic web will undoubtedly lie in the construction of ontologies to address the diversity of web services. For such a dynamic environment to be realized, the underlying ontological infrastructure will need to be extremely adaptable and reliable (Eve...

Accessing and Manipulating Ontologies Using Web Services

Ontologies and Semantic Web Services are the two core technologies of the Semantic Web. The Semantic Web hinges on the ability of computer programs to perform some task involving the autonomous resolution of semantic issues. This ability requires providing standard access for software to ontologies. Moreover, for the Semantic Web to gain widespread acceptance, it needs to reach a critical mass ...
